Summer League 2022

Registration opening Saturday, April 16

Posted by Joel on April 11, 2022

Registration for the Co-Ed Summer League will open Saturday, Apr. 16 at noon and closes Saturday, Apr. 30 at 11pm. All games take place Wednesday evenings at fields around Kingston from May 25 - Aug. 31.

With restrictions lessening we plan to return to normal this summer and look to run 4 tiers of 6 teams (24 total). Our hope is that we'll be reinstating our social gathering after games at the Mansion.

You can register as a captain (there is more information about what is required to be a captain here ) , or if your captain has already registered you can request your team during registration.

If you don't have a team, don't worry, you can register as an individual and a captain can recruit you to their team. We will do our best to find a spot for all individuals that register, but can't guarantee this. If we can't find you a spot, you will get a full refund.

To register log into your league account. If you don't have an account you can create one at league.kingstonulti.ca

Local 613 - YGK

Posted by Joel on April 7, 2022

Local 613 AND Local YGK are finally back for another full summer season after these last few years of uncertainty. Local 613 has represented Kingston provincially, nationally, and internationally since 2013, consistently being one of the top teams in Ontario. Our development team Local YGK has had three seasons under their belt and continues to offer a great opportunity for Kingstonians to better learn the game and get a taste for competition at some great tournaments.

If interested, please complete the google form before tryouts begin .

For more details about our summer, just keep reading.

Tryouts - $25 covers all tryouts: April 26th 6:30-8:30PM, April 30th 6:30-8:30PM, May 3rd 6:30-8:30PM, with the possibility of a 4th tryout on May 7th 6:30-8:30PM (Team selection to occur afterwards). All tryouts will be held at Nixon Field on Queen's campus. Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 will be our regular practice time with May 7th or 10th being the first team practice.

Local 613

Team Philosophy -Fun. Focused. Competitive.
Our practice time is limited so we will maintain focus and respect that for 2 hours every Tuesday. Everyone is there to put in work and improve together. Frisbee is fun, let's make sure it stays that way by enjoying each other's company, and respecting each other as players and people. There is enough competitiveness amongst our athletes that we know that when the chips are down everyone will perform their best. Everyone is playing Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Kingston mixed league night) already, and we trust you'll get another session in per week playing, throwing, or otherwise getting your body ready to compete.

Local YGK

Team Philosophy - Focused. Fun. Learn how to play and compete at the next level. Practices run side by side with 613 and there will be lots of opportunities to learn from coaches, and other competitive athletes.

Team Selection - We are looking for athletes that can make a commitment to regular practices, a few tournaments, and a desire to push themselves and improve while trying a bit more competitive level of frisbee than they may be used to.

Rain Policy

Posted by Joel on May 17, 2021

When the weather is questionable please check the web site. I will post the official word by 4pm Wednesday to the web site, facebook and Twitter. If you don't see a post by 4pm, then games are on as scheduled.

Please use common sense. If games are on and we get hit with a sudden storm, stop the game. Our permit can be revoked if we use the fields and damage them.
