Tryouts - Venue change

Posted by Joel on January 30, 2024

The Katarokwi Centre is unavailable this week so we have moved the tryouts to the old KCVI building at 235 Frontenac Street. The tryouts will still take place Thursday, Feb. 1 from 4-6pm.

Please use the entrance on Earl street near the corner of Frontenac. The gym is straight ahead from this entrance. There are change rooms at the gym.

Please take off outdoor boots/shoes before entering the gym.

If you have a league account please sign in to register at league.kingstonulti.ca. If you don't have an account and are under the age of 18, you will need to have your parent/guardian create an account and add you to their profile. They can then register you.

Kingston Junior 4v4 Co-Ed Team

Ontario Ultimate Championships

Posted by Joel on January 20, 2024

Kingston Ultimate is looking to support the development of High Schoool athletes interested in playing ultimate. We are putting together a team of Kingston’s top junior talent to participate in the Ontario 4v4 Championships being held on Feb. 17, 2024 in Burlington. If the team qualifies, we will then look to participate in the National tournament in April.

Tryouts will be held on Thursday, February 1 from 4-5:45pm at the Katarokwi Learning Centre - 164 Van Order Drive.

Eligible athletes must be no younger than 14 years of age and no older than 18 years of age on December 31, 2024. Our focus will be on senior students, but younger players can still tryout if they are experienced players.

For those that make the team we will hold weekly practices on Thursdays from 4-5:45pm leading up to the tournament. Athletes, or their parent/guardian if under 18, will be responsible for travel to the tournament (we will arrange car pooling).

We plan to take a team of 12 athletes (6 girls, 6 boys) and will potentially have 4 alternates. There is a team fee for the Ontario Championship of $400, so each player will need to contribute $40 to cover the tournament cost and incidentals.

Rain Policy

Posted by Joel on June 1, 2022

When the weather is questionable please check the web site. I will post the official word by 4pm Wednesday to the web site, Facebook and Twitter. If you don't see a post by 4pm, then games are on as scheduled.

Please use common sense. If games are on and we get hit with a thunder storm, stop the game and use the Use the 30/30 rule: When lightning is observed, play stops and the time between the lightning and thunder is counted. When you count 30 seconds or fewer between lightning and thunder, leave the field and take the appropriate shelter IMMEDIATELY. Remain sheltered for 30 minutes after the last peal (or sound) of thunder.

Also, if the fields having standing water on them or are soggy and are likely to get damaged then stop the game.
