Game On

Monday, May 25

Posted by Joel on May 25, 2015

As of 4:30pm today....

Looking at the weather forecast and radar it looks like we'll have a little bit of light rain, but it should be clearing around 6pm. With that in mind there will still be pick up tonight.

That said, please use common sense. If we get hit with a bad storm or heavy rain, stop the game. Our permit can be revoked if we use the fields and damage them.

Expiry Date: Tuesday, May 26, 2015

First off, yes, pick up starts this Friday and will run every Monday and Friday for the rest of the summer. There is more information here.

Queen's has asked that for Friday, May 22 that we use the East Grass Fields instead of the West Grass fields (they are next to each other).

Local 613 Tryouts

Posted by Joel on March 24, 2015

Local 613, a co-ed Ultimate touring team, is holding open tryouts for the team this year. Our goal is to carry around 40 players with a core team and a development team. Tryouts for the team will take place on April 21 and 28 at Miklas-McCarney turf field at West Campus at 6:30pm, and May 5 at Nixon field at 7pm. We will then enter two teams into the Toronto Ultimate Festival on May 9-10 and use this tournament to make final decisions about the team roster.

We are very interested in building a solid foundation for high level ultimate players in Kingston. Our goal is to run practices in such a way as to foster development of new players (or experienced players looking to take their game to the next level) and integrate them with the experienced players on the team. In doing so we hope to build a system that will keep Kingston competitive on the national ultimate scene for years to come.

The expectations for those who do make the team would be to attend practices throughout the summer on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and to partake in tournaments throughout the summer. Below is a list of tournaments we are hoping to participate in:
